Durmitor Mountain Budva, Old town

High up in a rocky mountain range, often hidden by clouds and mist, is the monastery of Ostrog,

the greatest Montenegrin shrine. It was built in seventeenth century. This is the place where the relics of Saint Vasilije Ostroski are resting. Saint Vasilije Ostroski watches us during our whole life and waits for us to return one day to our essence. One German prince had written in 1908 “Ostrog is not only the holy place of the Orthodox, but response of all the world religions”.

Do not go by car to the Upper Monastery, you should go on foot, like the humblest pilgrim. The old monk will tell you about the history of all the miracles that have happened in the monastery. Both the poor and the rich come here from everywhere in search of a cure for their bodies and soul.

For, Ostrog is the only place in the world where miracles do happen.
