Within the walls of coastal towns, the Montenegrin coast hides, like its pearl coves, mediaeval Baroque palaces.

The history of this part of Montenegro was for centuries maritime and neighboring countries oriented, therefore it was a rule here that one must sail.

The look of the towns and the way of life in them reminded of the Italian coast. Besides sacral and public buildings, there are as beautiful captains” and estate-owners’ palaces or of renowned families whose extinguished members had the most important role in history of this part of the coast.

Architecture and interior décor of the palaces resemble those of maritime countries, in particular those from Venice that museum collections, as a result of their wealth, are evidence of. But life goes on in many of them – they are turned into museums, town streets or waiting new owners to serve to nowadays, haughty and full of secrets from past times.
