Banking system in Montenegro is fairly well developed. All the banks have their correspondents in all big cities of the world, and the transaction can be carried out in all convertible currencies.

The most widespread cards are VISA, Master, Maestro and DINERS by means of which it is possible to carry out all kinds of monetary transactions.

In most business premises it is possible to pay by DINERS CARD.

The official currency in Montenegro is euro (EUR).

On working days banks are open from 07.00 a.m. to 08.00 p.m.; and on Saturdays from 08.00 a.m. to 03.00 p.m.

 

Foreign currency regulations:

Foreign citizens may bring into the country unlimited quantity of foreign currencies which have to be reported on the occasion of entering the country, in order to be able to take them out.

Montenegrin citizens may take out of the country foreign currencies up to the amount of € 1.000.
