DurmitorThe two biggest centers for winter tourism, for both alpine and Nordic skiing are the two beautiful mountains of Durmitor and Bjelasica, with the towns of Zabljak and Kolasin in their foothills. Durmitor is covered with snow 120 days a year. There are a few ski-trails.The most attractive ones are at Savin Kuk, Stuoc, and Javorovaca. There are two cable cars, a ski lift, beginner ski lift and ski service at Savin Kuk. The trail is 3500 m long.

There is a shorter (2630 m), but more interesting trail at Stuos. Javorovaca is very convenient for tourists who like short ski trails. It is 800 m long. There are also trails for cross country skiing, which are 3 to 12 km long.

Skiing in a bathing suit? In July?

Of course, skiing is possible even in July, because the snow is 2-3 meters high.

Padine BjelasiceThe traditional international skiing competitions, which take place here, are the Angel Cup and the Durmitor Cup, as well as The First Snow Criterion or national  skiing championship. Two skiing clubs, Zabljak  and the mountaineering–skiing association of Durmitor, have organized skiing courses for a long time now.

There are fantastic terrains  on the slopes of Bjelasica and Sinjajevina. There is a lot of snow, which starts in November and remains until May. The snow depth is from 1 to 3 meters high. The first trails are at on altitude of 1980m, and the last ones are at 1420m.The total length of the trails  is 15km and they are convenient for both recreational and competitive skiers. The trails and the equipment of the ski centers can accomodate  4000 people at the same time. All the trails are in the north part of Bjelasica, and the main one is 4.5 km long. There are three ski lifts, 500m long each, with a capacity of 200 skiers per hour. Since the trail is equipped with lights, it is possible to ski at night. The ski-trails are 8.5km away from Kolasin. There are two clubs: Bjelasica and Trebaljevo in the town. The traditional competition The Golden Weasel takes place on Bjelasica. The snowboard competition is organized as a part of  the ski festival. During the season, the first aid team and the ski patrol are on duty.
